Unseen Suicides

Unseen Suicides

A Poem by Mercury Mirrors
"

This is written for one of the extra work contests. :] Enjoy.

"

Some suicides are never recorded.
Discarded by the greedy media,
Their story is aborted.
Never to make a huge scene,
On the TV screen.
Never to be ogled at by families.
Never seen.

Some suicides are never recorded.
Even when the story is sick & distorted.
People are desensitized,
They feed themselves happy lies.
To keep them from ending up the same,
With a tag on their toe & no name.

Some suicides are never recorded.
The secrets & the hurt has all been horded.
Locked away in the back room,
Of society, to rot in the gloom.
When you pile something so high,
It’s bound to fall on you every time.

I like it. Short, concise and to the point. And nice subject as well.

Perfectly put. Nobody want's to realize suicide or even the action of self-harm. I'm dealing with a young teen cousing that thinks her life is hell and she's just a "girl next door". She and one of my best friends have attempted many times to take their own life in numerous ways.... hoping to find a better life somewhere under some dirt.
This is one of my favorite poems so far, of all the poems I've read. Major kudos!
