A Poem by Brian Lockard

My father once told me
I’m not motivated,
I'm worthless,
Because I write all night,
Sleep all day
The gears up there
Run, yes,
Just a touch slowly
Writing is no job
The dividing line
Between the sick
And the healthy,
I didn’t have enough
Still don’t have enough
And never will
I quit football,
I quit college,
I quit jobs,
I quit on him
Worthless, remember
I never finish anything,
He told me
Well, sweet father
I just finished this f*****g poem

Motivation can come in any form. So Brian, your father is behind the motivation to write this poem called "Pride". Well done to finish writing this poem.

Nice ending to the poem. You told a story in the poetry with a honest ending. Thank you Brian for sharing the excellent poetry.

Aloha Brian, some people however cruel can become our motivation later in life. Great job. Izzy
