The Ribbon that Tightens

The Ribbon that Tightens

A Poem by E.R. Jonas
"

A lyric about a transsexual's struggles.

"
My chest is bound
My ribs are bruised
I'm beating myself another round
Wants to stop being confused

My body and mind are divorced
The bridge between is broken
But a trust cannot be forced
And as words remain unspoken
Help is beyond my reach

The ribbon seems to get tighter
Pressing me down, flattens my breast
I will not give in, I'm a fighter
I will win life's test

Splinters seem to shatter
Stains of red mix with glass
Bloody fists and mad laughter
But finally I know I'll pass

The ribbon seems to get tighter
Pressing me down, flattens my breast
I will not give in, I'm a fighter
I will win life's test
