Yesterday

A Poem by Lola_Bee
"

feelings in a day which passes as the day does

"

I’ve been away for what feels like centuries

A mere declaration

A need for  self-preservation

lost amongst everything and nothing

studies, work, motherhood and family

Like juggling barbs and thorns

Ready to feel the prick and fall to the ground

Vibrations pulsate through my veins

The pace is too fast

I just won’t last

Most people say it’s called highway to hell

But I just dusted myself off as I fell

Stood up and walked away

Stronger than yesterday

The oxymoron 'mere declaration' is class here Lola. For no declarations can be descibed as mere by their very nature. A womans life is much harder than a mans IMO - especially women with children - they never gte a break, they bring up the kids then along come their childrens' children and they are 'Mum' once again. I often wonder about this.
