Hmm.. by any chance were sitting the corner of my office with a pad and pencil observing Miss So & So work her charms..
Every office has one, the arrogant, let me bring you down first lest my shallowness bring myself down. You wrote this so on point and with just the right touch of wit. Great read Lonestar!!
Wow! I didn't know you worked in the same office as me! This girl sits on the other side of my cubicle wall from me. For the past week I have, no shit, been regaled with endless repetitions about the sex life of HER 17 YEAR-OLD SON! He apparently texts her every time he talks to his GF, and she feels compelled to spread the news around the office. Loudly. So... yeah. They're everywhere. And... the breed more than most of us. T'is a sad state of affairs.
You have portrayed the gossip so well in this poem. It seems most work places, not just offices, have at least one, and many are men too. The way I see it, gossips says more about there own character, and it is not the goodie-two-shoes they try to pretend. It is the unsaid that I hear most. Actually, it is all I hear because I firmly say I don't want to know anything about a person unless he/she chooses to tell me. Gossips really don't like that. LOL I always figure, if someone tries talking to me about someone else, they most definitely will talk about me to others as well.
This is a great read with a wonderful rhyme and flow.
Such a poignant, often painful message. You express it so brilliantly, those who seek trust yet feel nothing when they cut others with their words. Powerful poem!
Some people are born to greatness.
Others, it is thrust upon them.
Me, I take those with greatness
And air out all their sins.
Although this is an all to real occurence and those who do this sorta thing are people with no self esteem or life so they have to try to ruin others... this was written with such a fun flare.... very cool.
