Just us

Just us

A Poem by Emily

Our eyes are saying things that they can't take back,
We both know what's going on in each others head.
We both know how bad we want this,
How bad we hope that maybe someday it could all work out.
Your smile lights up the dark room were in,
Your touch brings me to a whole new world.
Exploring all these thoughts of just us,
Just us in it until the end.
Just us taking on everyday side by side.

It's a special connection when you can understand exactly what the other person is thinking. Then when a romance that blossoms is just the cherry on top. But when you say "How bad we hope that maybe someday it could all work out" it brings uncertainty to the mix. That must be the most frustrating part, how things could be so damn near perfect but something externally or internally is ruining it for the both of you. But like the poem says, it's "just Us" so I hope it's kept that way. Wonderful poem, thanks for sharing. It's almost this poems first birthday by the way. Celebrate!
