Arrive Oh Freedom

 Embrace the fearful taunting feel

    From trusting in ourselves alone

To things this world has offered us

And Masques we hide behind as well

    Yes, release all comforts known

    Arrive oh freedom when compelled!

 Disparaging Eyes o'ershadowed by tragedy

Is heartbreak's witness deriding love's misery

        Redundant emotion that history consumes

One’s world in perception, no freedom, just doom.

        Anxiety, fear, torment, ...enough!

Defiantly baring the true soul is tough!

 Trusting in love without complication

The faith of a child is the answer to seek

Implicitly searched for with no reservations.

So Look through a child's eyes at life just to see

        Excitement, possibilities, endless convictions!

        Bringing hope back restoring humanity.

This is a beautiful poem! If only we really could shake off all the effects of our history and memories and see again they way we did as children. The world would be a trully wonderful place if we could. This is a strong, beautiful poem, and you have a fantastic voice.

A worthy addition to anyone's search for the answers to life's contradictions. Wonderful words so carefully placed they reach down into the heart and apply the medicine of poetry where it is need the most.

Thank you for this very inspirational poem.

OooOO a meaty poem one can sink one's teeth in...

the style is reminiscent (i think) of William Blake, like a call to arms for humanity to shake off it's fears & predijuces and see through the eyes of a child.

I find it interesting how you've embued a tightly woven dense poem into a thing of power and beauty, your use of large capitalisation, at the start of each stanza certainly is a strong structural device.

I wonder if wether writing masks as masques adds anything but complexity? and the same with o'ershadowed instaed of overshadowed.

This is indeed a wonderful, stirring call to arms!

thanks for sharing :)

Hey, this is a really great poem. The idea of trying to go backwards and remove all the fears and tragic things that happen in life; to go back to seeing things as a child once more is brilliant. History is after all memories, and how much history is happy - how many of our memories are truly happy ones?
A great write for reflecting upon.

What a nice piece! You have an incredible sense of humanity, all sides of it, the good and the bad. I read this over and over, it's great. I look forward to reading more of your unique work! =Omatori T.

Now this is just superior work... as we get older and learn the truth about life and humanity our fears become the chains that bind us... wouldn't it be nice to have the eyes of a child again then we would have the knowledge to know what to do and the innocents to believe we can... this is so deep and complexed as is life.... going in my favs
