Chirp

Feathered red

Your anthem sweet

Sweet streams of melody

Shrill forth your beak.

In solitude

Dart searching eyes

Soar, curiously

With no compromise.

One patient song

You seek out one

Will one answer you?

March to your drum?

So crimson soft

Sweet foliage scene

You’ve filled your nest

Peeps ‘neath your wings.

A pretty little poem about spring and a solitary bird calling for a mate.
This also speaks to me on two levels.

One, where the bird is seeking a mate - seaching for the right partner and not just accepting the first bird that comes along. Prepared to wait in solitude, the bird does find a mate and fills the empty nest.

On the second level - I see the story of the bird's search for happines, support and family as the descrition of what is needed, and found by the self.

As the bird found a loving mate and family - so did the self..

Of course I could be looking too deep - this could just be a lovely little poem about a nesting bird in spring.

I liked it very much

I loved this! A perfect poem to hearld in spring and the birth of little baby birds! You captured the images so vividly. I really liked the "Dart searching eyes" It brings the bird to life in my mind as i can clearly see it flittering around through the branchs around it's nest.

Great Write! :)
