Where My Soul Is
By: Lorraine Pearson

When there is
Nothing
Left to say
And
It seems
All's been swept away
I find my soul
Upon the wind;
Like the spider on a thread
Blowing aimlessly along….
Enveloped
In nature's song
Never longing
For an end
Or an eternity.

I guess my literary ignorance is bliss...I really like it myself. I'm always more concerned with the impact of your words on my heart and soul, the feelings and emotions you evoke. This speaks to me. I think the notion of being enveloped is strong enough, given the conext of your poem, that it deserves its own line, to stand out, to be thought about. Same for "Nothing."

Beautifully said Lorraine.

When everything goes wrong and it seems as though there is nothing left to say or to hope for, you regain hope and strength because your soul is strong, enveloped in nature and accepting what is, not asking for more than is expected. I love the idea of a spider web flowing in the wind here, because IF the web is broken, the spider just gets busy and re-builds. This is what I see you doing here, Lorraine, when it is done, and all is gone, your soul helps you re-build.

Thank you for this one

(((hugs)))

What a great way to express the depth of your being in a sort of suspended animation state! Well done, Lorraine! Barbara (eyepoetress)

Beautifully done. I need to think about what you've written for a bit though. I don't want you drifting aimlessly in the wind with nothing left to say.

I love the image of the spider, swinging along. It especially made perfect sense at the end when you said "Never longing for an end or an eternity." This line is so captivating, it makes so much sense. Then I think back to the soul, "upon the wind", just.. there. I loved this.

I love the free flowing message of this piece that we should allow our souls room to fly without cages so we can really live in each moment without limits.

I really liked the flow and the rhyme and the subtle philosophical hints within the poem. There are so many things to be taken from this short poem. Great write,

An ingot of gold...this poem radiates such wonder and longing to feel the movement of the unknown.

Very good! I'll keep it just for me...;)
