The One

This is a poem that I wrote to describe how I am feeling at this current stage in my life, it is also my most recent work so I decided it would be the most appropriate one to post first.

How does one

Continue living

When life

Is the only gift

one was given?

What is there

to prevent one

from just quiting,

and ending the misery,

which is all one

has ever known.

Why should one even try

to live such a life?

One must wear a mask,

so that one’s emotions can hide.

One must take one’s medication

so that by one’s own hand,

one won’t die

One must hold in one’s tears

by day,

so by night one can cry.

One must now let the world know;

Who this one is that I describe;

Why might you ask?

Because that one is I.
