"MARY-ANNE"

"MARY-ANNE"

A Poem by Lousje's Lines
"

This poem is about the ultimate betrayal by someone you trusted with your heart and soul and loved above all else.

"
"Mary-Anne", she was stamped.
Not priceless,
not worthless.
Destroyed at one's hands.

A lone figurine.
Not fragile,
not strong.
With eyes painted green.

Up there where she stood,
not pretty,
not plain.
Would talk if she could.

You wanted to touch.
Not allowed,
not denied.
Would it matter so much?

If you let her fall?
Not blamed,
not accused.
Could you fix her at all?

She belonged on that shelf.
Not tainted,
not pure.
Do you blame yourself?

Figurines can't be woken.
Not questioned,
not answered.
"Mary-Anne" is now broken.

Poor Mary-Anne! To be cheeky and not worthy of such a fine poem, it sounds like you need some superglue!!!
