Dead Leaves

Dead Leaves

A Poem by Chris M

As the wind blows us down to the ground,
We spiral gently,
We know that we're not alone,
That others are falling too.

Each one of us a memory,
A part of what once was fruitful,
What once was beautiful,
But will now never be the same.

We came from a place where life flowed,
And the sun shined,
But it has stopped shining now,
And we are dead leaves.

We are finished now,
Soon to be forgotten,
But others will come in our place,
Fresh, strong, full of hope.

I don't normally read nature poems but I really enjoyed this one - especially liked ' each one of us a memory, a part of what once was fruitful' surely an analogy for life.
