Embodied In Shadows And Love

Embodied In Shadows And Love

A Poem by Megan Wylder

Write a letter saying goodbye
Seal it with a kiss
A young boy
Torn into pieces
Asking if she was worth it

Only target the innocent
Leading them the wrong way out
The nightmare that never ends

Write a letter saying reborn
Tell them your answers
And think of all the lies
Discarded with the remains of youth

No longer his redeemer
Walking away
Make the nightmare stop
For forever you'll soon find out

My dear friend
When love is no more
And you listen to the reason face down in the dirt
The hell i come from
Pull the trigger to stop his hurt

A sad poem but you managed to make the reader stop and go "wow". Great job

Powerful write. I know that feeling. Hang in there! Writing like that, we need you around!

There's some solid language in this piece. You create heavy effect without getting bogged down in too heavy language. I like that!

I also like the way the logic of the poem moves around, twists up on itself. Like a person's thinking in that emotional state. Cracking write!
