True Romance

True Romance

A Poem by Megan Wylder

From beneath the wings of acid rain,
Is the beating heart of true romance.

Burn a whole that will never heal.

I can't believe I gave you another chance.

Make sure you shred the pieces,
As you rip me apart more day by day.

Pleading sorry from dry lips.

There is nothing more to say.

You became a dagger hidden by truthful lies
Piercing directly in the heart.

Breathing in my soul.

A beautiful disaster from the start.

Here I give whats left,
Its not much, as you already took it all.

Forgive me for the mistake I made.

I've learned my lesson to never fall.

From beneath the wings of acid rain,
Is the beating heart of true romance.

I know now I never crossed your mind.

You never gave me a passing glance.

Make sure to shred the pieces,
As you rip me apart more day by day.

I can't believe this is happening,
When you promised you would always stay.

Leave me here, wilting among the roses.

Where I can't help but cry.

You were my once upon a time.

A dream that had to die.

Enter my world of nightmares,
Loving you without a choice.

Seeing your face in everything.

Missing that angel voice.

From beneath the wings of acid rain,
Is the beating heart of true romance.

Burn right through me.

Leave without another glance.

Make sure you shred the pieces,
As you rip me apart more day by day.

Never speak those words again.

Theres nothing else you can say.
