Love, Forget Me Not

A Poem by Asphyxiated

Whispering those sweet nothings,

We fail to realize the false sense of love it brings.

If only we could of foreseen the future.

We could have recieve a cure.

If not a cure, an avoidance of misery and suffering.

Oh the agony.

Who knew we'd be emotionally dying?

Oh the irony.

You knew the path you choose would hurt me,

Not to mention you, but I was too blind to see.

You took my eyes, because they were only for you.

Then you took everything, because you didn't want to share.

You kept me in the shadow,

So you wouldn't have to fight jealousy.

However, in the end, you fought with me.

I don't always want to follow.

So you but everything against me,

Manipulated my empathy.

Yet, whenever I acted sourly,

I would be punished.

Never you.

I was hushed.

Never you.

It was always me.

Never you.

You made things a hellish melancholy.

Now you've left us hellishly empty.

How fitting my prince,

After her... well you never were the same since.

I was just the filler to the missing icing of your loneliness.

That's all I ever will be to you.

It's even disgusting to think, and to know, I still love you.

I always will be... sadly.

I'll take my leave, gladly.

Now, however, I can't.

Why?

Because you killed me.

So dear love,

Forget me not.

You'll be the one I haunt.

Memories, dreams, and everyday, I'll be behind you.

You can finally have your follower.

Just a little more hollower,

And transparent."
