Electric Mind

Electric Mind

A Poem by Brittany Zedalis
"

Just a quick one that I had to write down.

"

Electricity flowing through

Intoxicated veins,

I wait, and ponder,

Over life’s simplicities, and the dreams

That burn and burst through

Our constantly wandering souls,

The cracked ground beneath

Our feet, dry and barren,

But in the distance,

A spark

I can kind of see where you're coming from. I understand it like this, and please correct me if I'm wrong. You're confused over the simple things in life and the things that don't make sense. Its like your soul is wandering aimlessly and it feels like there is nothing on this earth that can set you free from the prison you're in. You can almost taste your freedom, but its just so far away and your mind is fading farther and farther away from reasoning and reality. I'm probably wrong, but that's what I am getting out of it. Let me know!

The end shows it is still live with it.

Short, but lively with the descriptions of it.

You are welcome...:)......
I love poems with a touch of philosopy. So, naturally, I loved this one as well. These 4 lines are awesome (actually made me smile.. ) -

"I wait, and ponder,
Over life’s simplicities, and the dreams
That burn and burst through
Our constantly wandering souls," - You have captured the essence of life. Dull, yet vibrant. A strange mixture of wisdom and insanity, that's life.

"But in the distance,
A spark" - That's the problem.. When there is no hope, life shows us a beacon of hope.. And when we think everything is fine, the ground beneath our feet crumbles, throwing us into complete darkness.

A really good write :)

Thank you for such a thoughtful response.
I really like the direction you went. The spark off in the distance to ignite.. well done!

As deserving as ever, darling!
Such a lovely paucity of words used to describe the whole of life and the hope for a better one. A very welcome poem, Luna!
