you are

you are

A Poem by Lydia

artwork by Irene Sheri

you are poetry
a breeze of thought
ruffling the hem
of my summertime gauzy dress
a kiss of metaphor
tickling my neck
in just the right spot
a raindrop of romance
whetting my appetite for more
an implausible possibility
crossing my t’s
dotting my i’s
i collect the words
dancing off the pages of you
holding them close to my heart
because
mon amour
for me
you are poetry

"i collect the words dancing off the pages of you holding them close to my heart because mon amour
for me you are poetry" The kind of love to inspire poetry as beautiful and romantic as yours must be a great one, Lydi. This is simply exquisite. I loved it then and love it now!

Thank you so much, sweet friend. Lydi**
As I read more of your work, I am appreciating your skill with words more than ever. They reach out and convey their message so clearly, without being obscure, as so much "meaningful" poetry tends to be.
It is a real pleasure to read your poems.

Now I know you weren't thinking of me when you wrote this, but it sure feels good to think about poetry that way. Love the way you think, and how you put it into a poem. Trace
