little girl dreams

little girl dreams

A Poem by Lydia Shutter
"

best friends just understand

"

we learned with each wrinkle
acquired skills with each silver hair
sharing golden secrets through the years
                      either whispered
                             or with a smile

                                across a crowded room
        quite satisfying
yet we always knew
try as we might to stop it
time would pass
                          and eventually
we would reap what we sowed
                still we smile
knowing somehow
              our little girl dreams
                       will continue to prevail

Smiling here...thank you, Tom. Lydi**
this sounds a little suspicious, bordering cunning movements
well planned just like a woman. I loved it

What a lovely write to honor a friendship. Nothing beats having that kind of bond, to be able to share secrets and stories, good and bad and have someone to entrust them with. Very sweet read Lydi.
