euphoria?
not sure exactly where it is
                        but
when i can almost feel your ginger scent
as it wafts through my space
              so hypnotic
                                 ahhhhhh....
i remember the swaying steps
to a distant dance
           did you know
                  fireworks are not just

                       for the fourth of july?
then you kiss my lips
your eyes suddenly thoughtful
as if considering the flavor
and i espy a crumb of desire
waiting for my tongue
         right there
and i,  my love
i am downright deliquescent
that's when i’m pretty sure
euphoria is not too far from here

"did you know
firewords are not just for
the fourth of July".

It is rare, in the middle of a love poem, that the writer stops and poses a question to the reader. It
makes the reader stop and refocus on the poems human importance, and by that I mean,
susceptible to and representative of the sympathies and frailties of hominid love.

nicely written, as always.

Again you tempt the imagination to the sensual nature of love with gentle, tasteful care.

Ha. Well not all "cooking" takes place in the kitchen.
I suspect you are a fantastic "cook".

LOL you naughty boy!
Oh my. I really am not old enough or experienced enough to read this. Tastefully and wonderfully steamy.... with the essential gingeresque reference that I have come to look for. Bravo. ~Jim

decadent, that's what this is, fell in love with the visual this line planted "then you kiss my lips
your eyes suddenly thoughtful as if considering the flavor" that was gorgeous...what a line! The whole poem thoroughly enjoyable. :)

beautiful - I love the 'real' moment in this heady poem "then you kiss my lips, your eyes suddenly thoughtful" there is that gentle intimacy - ok I'm old and married so perhaps I think along those lines of comfort - but there is a warmth to this poem that is just lovely.

Sensuality at its best, Lydi. You do romance poetry like no one else. Exquisite!
