interlude of fulfillment

interlude of fulfillment

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

friday night makes the sparks fly

your eyes speak a language
in which my soul longs to be fluent
sweet nothings float through the air
harmonizing with a silent chorus of stars
the sighs of night caress me
my heart beats to the rhythm of your kisses
                              yielding to the passion
hiding between tangles in silken sheets
we nibble on sizzling tidbits of desire
you are my outburst of simmering emotion
             in this interlude of fulfillment
truly a scene meant for only us

pour toujours mon amour

The opening words are really brilliant. Everyone would agree, I am sure. Viz: 'your eyes speak a language, in which my soul longs to be fluent'. Anyone who has made gentle love, and looked into those eyes, knows exactly what this sentence means. How is it the eyes look so rapturous at that time....full of love and longing, and caring, and ...oh! I so wish they looked like that all of the time!

...."a silent chorus of stars / the sighs of night caress me..." took me away to the emotion weaving throughout your poem Lydi... it is a truely "nice" poem.. your poems always make my day more enjoyable... as for this captcha, the only way it makes any sense is if you were having some fish a*s.... er... for dinner, for dinner.... --redzone

I love the juxtaposition of intensity and gentility, a facet of the greatest romances. Every line and image is sensuous and powerful, including the French conclusion. There is something about the French language and the way the words flow that just seems to lend itself to sensuality. Love this one :)

Lydi... your art is delicately beautiful.
It seems to blend with passion hiding in
corners of tangled sheets. Tomorrow...
Sunday will bring north winds and cold
air will linger... but I will think of
your warm and sensual poem and
delight in the warmth of words.
truly... Pat

Another lovely balanced and eloquent piece of romantic poetry. No need for the large print the words speak for themselves Lydi. And trust you to spot the captcha!

Asshake. LOL. What's an asshake. Sounds painful but the poem was beautiful. The double letters did not go unnoticed.

I love this sizzling little sensual Friday night gem Lydi! I can't think of a better way to spend the evening than reading your poetry to my sweetie (and nibbling on little tidbits of desire) You have definitely heated up a rainy California Friday night!
