every night before

every night before

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

artwork by michael and inessa garmash

the timeless taste of your kiss
lingers on my tongue
on the other side of morning
your scent on the sheets
                       just a tease
 eggs me on
                           so seductive
           you
my “esprit de corps”
each morning after
every night before

Heavy Sigh! Lydi, your poetry is one place that holds all the magic of the world. It can never leave your poetry. You had me at 'the timeless taste of your kiss'. Your words are so deeply sensuous... teasing and tantalizing the soul. All your romantic poetry is simply eternal, my friend.

I always love the mention of the scent lingering of the "Night before"... It always gives you a sweet longing to touch the linens... I always love the expert and confident way you write to make me feel breathless by your words. This themes is one of favourites. And it reminded me of my poem "Scent still lingers" :) Its always a pleasure to read your works while sipping my coffee. Its beautiful the peaceful feeling i get.Thank you for sharing this Lydi. *keep writing*

Always a fan :) Was a pleasure. You have earned a Loyal reader.
I got so caught up in the nuance of your words that I almost took the mention of "eggs" the wrong way! Oh, but your finish brought me back to a little heaven on earth!

Beautiful words for such captivating artwork, Lydi!

Thanks so much. Lydi**
I think we all seek such "morning after, every night before"; to have their scent surround you through the days, their kiss coloring your lips... it is the "niceness",of your poem that we can be treated to these feelings; treated to these fantasies... and some of us may even have lived them once upon a time... it is oblivious that your "night's before and morning after" are still very much alive Lydi.. way cool
