A Poem by Lydia Shutter

artwork by jose pacheco

the dandelions he picks
instantly become roses
he

finds meaning in café windows
then writes poetry with clouds
on the inky sky

kisses my mind with inspiration
tickles my tongue
with the perfect mélange
of naughty and nice

intrigues my curiosity
with a smile
makes me blush the color of wine
till i feel my own pulse beneath my skin

dresses me in acceptance
accessorizes me with understanding
hands me the carnelian sunset
he loves me

Dandelions becoming roses just because they are from him - says it all really Lydia.

love this line -
"kisses my mind with inspiration"

and I loved 'carnelian sunset' - another new word today - yehaa!

the final stanza is so filled with what it means to be not just the lover but also the friend, the confidant, the support that we all need.
excellent wordsmithing dear poet !

The changes happening so naturally when one person loves another is beautifully painted like the magical love itself, loved it

You welcome, enjoy your weekend too, am glad weather is better than few weeks prior
You are, and always will be, a poets poet, Lydi!
There is a delicacy to this...perhaps its the softness of the font that delivers each verse with a heightened feeling of euphoria. It's simply beautiful!

My best,
Kelly

this is fantastic, especially the last stanza...your brilliance shines as strong as the blush the color of the wine...and makes the reader feel a little light headed with the intensity of romance...
