Goodnight

Goodnight

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

artwork by Jenny Hambleton "Girls Curls"

Conversation bends at the waist
sleepy eyes drink in love brewed with desire
amazing how well your arms feed my sensuality
                 allowing it to blossom
but the truth is my morning caffeine has eloped
with things better left unsaid
            can you hear them?
impenetrable curves of night enter the picture perfectly
yet this edgy poem screams to be scribbled
before slumber has her way with me
and I kiss dreams of you goodnight

I enjoyed this poem dear Lydia. Felt like a morning whisper.
"but the truth is my morning caffeine has eloped
with things better left unsaid
can you hear them?"
Morning caffeine can alert the mind to be careful. A perfect ending to the excellent poetry.

Oh Lydia..........atmospheric dreams wrap this beauty around sensuous brilliance. I could feel desire lifting passion all the way to the sky. Whoa!

"Conversation bends at the waist." What a lovely opening line Lydi. A foretaste of what is to come in the following poem. Bravo as always my dear. ~SP

Thanks so much, Cassie. When the words are ready to be written, we have to listen! :) Lydi**
Are guys allowed to sigh? Oh well, too bad if they are not...sigh. A poetic lullaby with a melody all its own. Very beautiful.
