even now

gray hair blowing in the sea breeze

beauty was her calling card

she tasted summer with lusty abandon

as tips of nostalgia were moistened

by the memory of a juicy peach

eaten at the beach

juice running down her chin

till “he” licked it off

oh yes, a liquefied reminiscence

whitecaps breaking over and under them

salty clean yet seductive giggles

turning into fulfilled fantasies

fit for kings and queens

ones only encountered in her wildest dreams…..or poetry

yes, even now

beauty was still her calling card

and poetry her salvation

Again, Lydi,
You've blessed us with a wondrously beautiful and meaningful fit of a painting … it's a though she's fanning her dress at life's cares to fly away, exactly how the moment and suggestive nuances of your poem make me want to toss it all to the wind, grab a handful of romance, chase a kite until breathless and drunk from laughter … then, soothe into slow, deliberate lovemaking … oops! Ya got me carried off there … blush!

"Calling card" and "salvation", it's an enthralling piece from your depthless well of sensual affection and imagery, we all adore and need!

A person can be sensual and sexual at any age -- even now -- we need to shed our preconceptions and realize that if we are not dead we are ALIVE -- live it, and revel in the moment -- beauty at any age. Lovely.
