just maybe

just maybe

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

i'm not close enough to taste your breath
to feel your touch
still there's a whole chorus of emotion
coursing through my body
singing lines from a script its written
one of passion, longing, desire
so as i plant this kiss on my palm
know that it springs from a universe of love
and as i blow it in your direction
it's much more than a fumbled flirtation
because i hope that maybe
just maybe
you will smile as it touches your stubbled cheek

i would hope the receiver of this kiss would smile...
such a well-written gesture is put forth here....
my head, my thoughts have reached out in this way before...knowing i couldn't actually touch...but the imagination can sometimes make the feeling still happen.
