Scars

Scars

A Poem by Lykos
"

We sometimes have pain on the inside, but we cannot see it, so we damage ourselves to make it become real.

"
I carry the scars underneath
There is no button to erase or delete
Always there in the depths of my mind
Yes to try and forget I have tried

As the years go by they increase
I don't have a way to release
These feelings all pile up
My daily life they interrupt

Sometimes the bad energy emerges
To the surface the emotion surges
I can feel it bubbling under my skin
I don't have the strength to hold it in

Scars that once stayed in my mind
Began to accumulate on the outside
Several thin lines on my arms and thighs
I could see them with my own eyes

Now my body is the reflection
Of my once invisible infliction
I stare at the damage I've inflicted
How could i have become so addicted
