Gratitude

Gratitude

A Poem by Jordyn A. Ruhter

I slipped into darkness,

Unsure of even the time.

Day by day felt broken,

As I watched the puppets dance.

A name unspoken,

Words pent up,

I cried myself to sleep

Many nights in a row.

A knight in armor swept by,

Pulling me from sorrow,

Carefully tended me,

And took my what remained of my heart.

To him, the knight, I am grateful,

For he saved me from myself

And even from uncertainty,

And to him I am grateful.

It's hard to grasp, I suppose, the many emotions twining themselves around in the words that flow from my fingertips as I tat tat tat away at the keyboard in order to bring to you a work that once understood will only bring satisfaction unto my dearest readers.

I loved the first stanza.
The rest was good but I just thought that part about watching puppets dance was brilliant.
