Stranger

Stranger

A Poem by M.H. Bones
"

"

The night glows red with frigid smiles

Brush off stares with seasoned wit

Seven sinful dancing styles

Clawing sides of sunken pit

A few cold bottles dull the edge

Driving down the woodsman’s wedge

Calculations choose my prey

A stunning red-locked stranger

First and last I saw her sway

Seeking further danger

Harmless stabs with playful knives

Drawing secrets bleeding lives

Embraced her tight while gripping sheets

Specter smirks and pulls my strings

Gunshots ring out from the streets

Exchanging thoughts the sparrow sings

Protesting lips work overtime

Our bodies close but spirits climb

From meatless carcass tiger starves

Minutes seeping into past

Her name into my veins she carves

My time is short here it can’t last

Void expanding nothing felt

A stranger hand was never dealt
