Daydream

Daydream

A Poem by M.H. Bones
"

"

You sit with me and watch the screen

Attention split like atom bombs

I steal your face with camera’s flash

You tackle me into the sheets

Arms outstretched you hover low

 Looking down with face disdain

Your laugh sweet music in my ears

Filled with joy but laced with pain

Our eyes lock and clock hands halt

A strain of hair falls out of place

I brush it back with gentle care

Like sifting through the finest silk

You rest your head upon my chest

Exhaling buried inhibitions

Lay the weight of troubles on me

A welcome burden I would share

My heart pounds like drummer’s bass

 Feeding life to worried nerves

Place hand with care like cutting wires

As to not explode the moment

No words exchanged as thoughts go racing

Watched over by the ceiling fan

Actors mumble in the background

Drowned out by the somber silence

"Here we go again"

Author's Note

M.H. Bones
We sometimes daydream of the ones we miss. The ones we wish we kept a little closer.
