Time

Time

A Poem by MOON

Love take me home let my heart unlock

I saw it written on the clock

Time moves even in the stillness

Time moves without a second hand shown

There is the boat anchored in the dock

Swaying to the side in the  shrillness

The wolf baying lonely on its own

Nothings ever carved in rock

Time moves even in the stillness

Time moves without a second hand shown

Will the unseen

Come and take me home

I saw it written on the clock

Time moves even in the stillness

Time moves without a second hand shown

I love anything that has a vision of time. This does - it drums home the ideas of consistency in motion, but also a relentlessly slow feel throughout. The repetition speaks for itself. And I like what you've done here :) Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much will stop by soon.
Today, for some reason, I could feel it slipping by. It can be brutal at times. Lovely, well written poem. A very good read. It left much think about.

It is very true. Time moves so fast. I like the line '' Time moves without a second hand shown.'' Nicely written too.

I find this write almost like a journal entry, a whispered thought, gazing out the window, and wondering when time will be gentle and fill the heart. Exquisite pen.

Yup. Thanks for stopping by.
To me this poem is about a person - man or woman - who has lost a loved one. They are nearing the end of life, watching the days race by, life not really holding any meaning to them anymore. Just marking time, waiting for the end of this life and the beginning of the next. A thought provoking poem, Moon.

Many thanks Wendy , appreciate your time.
Just the slightest tough of . . . creepy(?). More like sad. I get the image of an unknowingly deceased woman waiting to go to her life before the end. The product mainly of the repeat use of the clock and then the boat off to the underworld. Or, possibly it is a living woman waiting for the end, knowing that death is her home.

Best line for me is TIME MOVES EVEN IN THE STILLNESS.
