Grief

Grief

A Poem by MOON

Shaded by her scarf, her eyes full of unshed tears

She knew she would not see him but maybe he hears

The timbre in her heart, the cough that never clears

Her chest so heavy nothing is as it appears.

The whispering wind, so many years

She sat her clock by him, all her fears

Loving him and sometimes shifting gears

Memory and restraints her head rears

He the steadfast heart he had no spears

For love’s stark white walls and bloodied smears.

He the ship that never in a storm veers.

The calm that heals and parches all tears

Now in this graveyard flaming love sears.

I missed this?! Oh my, the sadness.. such a tragedy here.. words that cut into the mind.. leave scars.. your words are nonetheless powerful.. ' She whispering wind, so many years ~ She sat her clock by him.. ' That is love, what it should be when everything right is set in place.. but the ending.. the absence crucifies all sense of being.. does.. truly does.

Thank you so much, will stop by soon.
Extra ordinary. Heavy emotions with great imagery. Love, loss and pain...the ingredients of a beautiful poem.

Indeed it is. I only meant that a poem bleeds from the cracks of a broken heart.
Heartbreaking honest emotion in every line! Incredible imagery. Lydi**

The flow of this piece is effortless and masterful. It's tragic yet lovely imagery speaks to your soul, stirring memories as you read it. It's painful enough to have a love end, but worse ever still to witness it slowly fade away. Thank you for sharing this moving poem.

Heartfelt heartbreak. Nicely written point of view of slowly losing someone.

To lose a loved one as this rips the heart apart! You have expressed this expression of great sadness from the image you have used to your words that speak of stark white walls and bloodied smears. That is pain!
