Marooned

Marooned

A Poem by MOON

Where do we go when dreams are no more?

Where is this life what is its core.

Deal out the cards, what it is for?

Twirling party dresses bought in a store.

When there is a knock, who opens the door?

Does the marooned ship ever leave the shore?

Sometimes the sweetest taste just leaves you raw.

Every battle fought ending in war.

Remember a time, tell me what you wore.

Red flagged dresses for bulls to gore.

Expressions of love that finally tore.

Chronicle  of a fairytale, another folklore.

Everything around us is a battle and to be marooned in the midsts of it is to fight. Well done Moon!

every battle fought ending in war... very subtle meanderings.

the soul is but a peninsula and only so much can be absorbed or squeezed out.

well done :)

This is such a powerful piece for a wandering soul
searching for answers but couldn’t have all the answer.

…and Moon, you just left me something to ponder. Powerful write!

Oh MOON, I love this philosophy of yours. I can fully relate, your words in wondering are the very best. As the truth lays proverbial always wisely in the middle. Excellent work!

the structure and the rhyme scheme really add to the piece, I thought that it was very unique how you broke from the rhymeshceme after the line about being marooned. It was as if the thought threw you off track. You capture the sense of dejection here so well that it nearly overwhelms the reader. I think that is an very well done piece! Great work!

This is an interesting write as the flow is terrifically matched to the words. I love the abstract concept of being Marooned, or more specifically how emotions can maroon oneself inside. Nice write! :)

Such soul-disturbing, heart-wrenching questions come from a life immobilized; a consciousness not knowing which way to turn.
Spirit needs refreshment; the soul must, once again, have its dreams; the body requires much embracing to be reassured it still lives. That hollow feeling must be filled with hopeful warmth.
"Marooned" portrays a place to which none of us would wish to be abandoned.
Stunning work, Moon!
