Pig

Pig

A Poem by Morgan Yai
"

This poem is about anorexia. I have never struggled with it exactly but I know what it is like to feel extremely fat and awful about your weight.

"

No one knows

What I did

They all thought

I was a pig

I only wanted

To change their mind

I wonder what will happen

When they find

My body

In my room

Limp

Like a hunted coon

"You should eat more"

The doctor once said

But now I can't

Because I'm dead

I can relate to this. I used to be quite fat, a bit of a porker actually. I went on a crash course diet and took up running and fencing (all I ever do now other than work!). I know what it's like to feel fat and out of place, out of sync with everyone around you.

Unfortunately many people face this problem. There are many reasons why it happens, be it emotional or physical harm, but it's never something that *should* happen. I can appreciate the way you showed both extremes.
