Don't Do It

Don't Do It

A Story by Ki

Her head is pounding. She doesn't know how much more she can take. The tears don't seem real as they pour past her lips and down her face. They fall onto the dark metal of the handgun. She is shaking. She tightens her grip on it and brings it closer.
"Loser."
"You're so ugly!"
"Who even likes you?"
"Nasty lesbian!"
She shudders and closes her eyes.
"You're so gay!"
"You're so freaking stupid."
"B***h."
She screams out, as if to drown out the voices. But they just come faster and louder, from everywhere.
"You're worthless."
She brings the gun to her head. This is it. She'd never have to hear the voices again. She brings her finger to the trigger. She doesn't even feel scared. Just relieved.
"Don't do it."
"You matter."
The voices come from somewhere else. She doesn't know where. She drops the gun. And she dries her tears.
