The Girl Next DoorA Poem by Viet PhamI don't even know how to begin to describe this piece.
I wont say I love you that would be a lie, but the truth is, I like you.
Not as Romeo likes Juliet, or how Heathcliff likes Catherine, Not in a sense that makes my heart all fussy inside, But rather in a way that makes me wish you were the girl I grew up with. The girl next door. You are the girl I would have known my entire life. The girl who would find comfort in my open arms, on a rainy day. You are the intelligent, sweet and beautiful girl, The one every guy dreams about. But in my reality, you seem so distant, like a faraway dream, And I am the idiot still stuck in the middle of our conversation, hoping you will return one day. Some days I even find myself stealing glances at the spot we first met, Secretly hoping, wishing and waiting for you. The girl next door to my heart. You never did return though, You only stayed for a brief moment, Like the girls before you, But thats what I get for being the guy, who lives next door to a freaking hotel. © 2011 Viet PhamReviews
