Hermosa Sonadora

Inspired by a wonderful muse...

Laughter has never felt this way,

a song and a dance

the first glance of a new day

rays of sunlight

          in everything you say.

 

Laying here beneath this tree,

-this canopy of leaves

…I never want to leave.

Just lay here with my Sonadora

-lay here and believe.

 

How we travelled

 to the plains of Spain,

just to lay…

and drink wine after the rain.

So we could smell the world

on the leaves above.

Just me, laughter, a beautiful girl

and another eve of love,

staring at the constellations

counting stars,

fascination in you

and everything you are,

                           my Sonadora.

 

Do we make love,

or is love making us?

Taking and giving trust

its more than lust

its passion and heart

connection

like lines between the stars,

we draw with our minds

giving us direction

to places hard to find.

 

We’ve left our imprint,

-carved our figures in the grass

where we rolled

loving

laughing

from all the jokes we told.

Til we just lay,

minds heavy with wine,

your perfume,

and the moon,

-your body next to mine.

 

How you laughed,

 at all my attempts

to learn to ride the horses

and of course this,

moment forces us to pause,

so for once we can own it,

and savor the taste.

We made this trip,

deciding not to waste,

a breath,

to take everything that’s left

for us to take.

 

To live inside the dream

inbetween the seams

of what’s real and make believe

   between stars and auroras

on quiet, Spanish eves

                with my Hermosa Sonadora.

Hermosa Sonadora is Spanish for "Beautiful Dreamer".
