Leatherbound

A poem...

I want to bind

these feelings

stealing my thoughts

and all of my time,

in a leather book

you almost bought

to be mine.

 

I want to write

all the musings

amusing my heart

when I’m alone at night;

in poetic verse,

eloquent and terse,

about your candlelight.

 

I want to write this scroll

in my own hand

to demand a glimpse

into my seeking soul;

written slow

so you will know,

your words’ striking toll.

 

Because this poet,

simply tries to capture

the rapture your words

incur upon my stoic

heart and demeanor;

the part I see in her,

is beautiful, does she know it?

 

I want to take ink

and with it illustrate

our fate in little pictures

to make you think;

about your grace,

and what I see in your face,

I have something for your soul to drink.

 

You need these words

to finally feel more alive

when surviving has been

the destiny you heard

was most fitting;

so you’ve been sitting

waiting for what hasn’t occurred.

 

I want to bind

these feelings

stealing my thoughts

because I find

that they may be

what you need to see,

to leave your pain behind.

"all the musings

amusing my heart" were my favorite lines, I LOVED the word play with "muse". prophetically poetically and elegantly done. The theme of it was intense, and also amusing because of your name "TheLord'sName" and it sounded like it had a kind of Bible theme to it.
