Haiku

Haikus i wrote for English class

through the blades of grass

a ladybug silently journeys

under the blazing sun

 

 

 

in winter moonlight

a pair of lovers walk

forever hand in hand

 

 

 

my unholy mind

with the eyes of an outlaw

believes in rebel love

 

 

 

 

in summers vanity

a sparrow flys high above

the gleaming river

 

 

 

 

a wilting rose

stands out in a world alone

surrounded by hate

 

 

 

 

a summers eve

a sweet melody flows through the trees

a painted sun sets

I didn't get the connection either, but beautiful images in such small packages. Great job with word choice. It paints such a lovely picture

I kept reading this over again because I was trying to figure out how each stanza connects to the next one. I couldn't figure it out but it doesn't really matter because it is beautiful anyways and your word choices just grab me. I usually try to avoid Haiku because I just don't really like the way it flows but this was really lovely and I enjoyed it. Oh and thanks for the read requests! I'll read whatever you send my way.

Assuming you did it on purpose, half of these haiku have the improper amount of syllables to be "traditional" haiku (and to be fair, no one can really seem to agree on how a haiku should be approached in English anyway), but I actually really enjoy it when people write haiku that break the rules. And all of these are fantastic.
