To be or not to be

To be or not to be

A Poem by MadalaJose

Don’t be wise my friend

You will pay for their ignorance

Don’t be original my friend

They will burn you on a CD

Don’t be creative my friend

They will make you PAYE

Don’t get your head above water

They will slash it.

If you be naïve

They will happily take advantage of you

If you be ignorant

They will merrily make fun of you

If you be mediocre

They will surely feel safe around you.

Just be.

If you can be, be yourself:

But let me warn you my friend,

That comes with a cost.

I think this poem just reminds us that no matter what we do there will always be somewhere there to criticize and knock us down. Does not mean they will be successful....but life always comes with adversity...thats a part of what makes it life.

Very true. Thank you friend for the comment
Are you positive it will come with a cost. I differ to disagree. I think it has a lot with worrying about how others feel about you. Take the focus off that and you can be yourself. I liked tour poem. You are really expressive. Good job
