Again

Again

A Poem by Maddi

Saying farewell is always difficult,
Saying good bye is hard.
Because:
You don't know if you'll ever be together again,
Laugh together again.
Share noodles again,
Have shots together again.
Contemplate Plato again,
Play piano together again.
In your heart,
You know,
You might never see him again.
Tell him you love him again.
And he is gone,
Again.
Later, you visit the church
and look at the war memorial again.
Lay poppies for your brother again.
And you wonder,
how long is it till
I
feel that same pain.
Over again.
