Dance with me

Dance with me

A Poem by Magdelena
"

Oh the love of dance, such heated passion...

"

Dance with me, he said
His eyes, like two sun kissed moonbeams
Held me in their control
His hand out, I put mine in his.

Tingling sensations shot threw me
I felt his touch like liquid fire
Trembling, my legs started to move
His body taking mine with ease.

We floated, he and I
Across the crowded room
People surrounding us
Yet it was only him I was in tune.

His touch, magical
Like sensations I've never felt
His aroma intoxicating, drugging my senses
Of desire ripping through my very form.

He held on tightly as the song started to change
Soon the sounds of the Salsa came,
and his body started to sway
The beat intensified, as did my heart.

Soon our feet went to the rhythm
Like we danced so many times this way
I felt like I had always known him
As our bodies began to sway.

Our feet moving faster, to this Latin beat
Our bodies sweating with passion
His fingers caressing my open back
Like tiny ripples of desire, my mind could not ration.

We moved in circles all around
The others stopped and stared
At the dancing couple I heard call out
The ones who danced with dare.

We looked like [Fred] and [Ginger]
Like two dancing stars
The Mambo next.. Then the Rumba
And soon I heard the roars.

As others started to clap and send forth their cheers
Like a daydream I was living
My feet flying off the floor
Magical it seemed.. And ooh.. So much more.

Then slowly all diminished, and lights stated to blink
Telling us the night was over, and all did start to leave
This Cinderella's ball was done
And the clock had done stroked twelve.

I sighed so very heavily as I headed for my coat
Then a hand so tenderly came and softly touched my skin
I looked up in surprise, and saw my Latin man again
He stared so very quietly, that all around grew dim.

Then softly he held out his hand
And once again I felt mine in his.

His eyes, like two sun kissed moonbeams
Held me in their control
Then softly he whispered those special words
And I knew then I had given him my soul.

Dance with me, he said
Just that, nothing more
My coat held out, then together we turned
And walked out the door.

The dance of passion that may lead to the dance of fulfillment. Beuatiful piece full of imagery that sweeps the reader across the dance floor with this vibrant couple. With the club now closing, he invites her to come with him and create their own music and new dance. The very sensual side of dancing. Great work of the pen!

one can see and feel the escape your poem brings on...two encased within the emotions of togetherness within a dance and an adventure of love...

nice work...

Dancing is very intimate .. as intimate as you can get without getting 'intimate'.
This spills over with heat and passion and love of the dance... which leads to more.
Sensuous and 'swaying' lovely.

Oh I loved this Mags. Love to ballroom dance or any kind of dancing. But salsa is one of my favorites! Loved the music. Fabulous!

I want to move my feet to a beat after reading this poem. Great piece of writing here. The next time I see dancing on television I am sure these words will pop up in my head. You have left a lasting impression on this reader.

I loved reading this. There's just so much passion and brilliant imagery. I felt like I was right there with the speaker in this poem: a fuel for much needed daydreaming that has brightened my day. Thank you. :-)

Dance is such a powerful word and such a wonderful thing to do. If we dance well perhaps we also live well, perhaps we have the rhythm of life in us. Sadly I can't dance in the way you desceibe here, but I can share the dream you conjour up and wld love to be able to dance like that, naturally, and for the dance to be in my soul. It is a simple, but very positive and charming poem about how life can be if we are lucky, or keen enough to make it so.

Oh what a lovely little story..
I almost think dancing is like love,it brings some very special feelings
I think the moves will not come really tuned and in harmony unless
the two dancing are also some two really loving and really tuned..the emotions so mixed
once you are in love ,your body would like to move and sway to the music
We float he and I across a crowded room, people surrounding, yet only him I was in tune
oh I really love your writings ,you write with such depth, words full of life ,they almost talked
lovely write..
