Comfortable Silence

Comfortable Silence

A Poem by Malcolm Reynolds
"

A day with a special someone that couldn't have gone better.

"
Rutland cycling, you chose the wrong car park,
Quick greets and we're ready to see the resevoir,
Wearing your cropped jeans and a red top,
Had a bug in your eye but you still looked sharp,
We spent a while getting up those hills,
But your anecdotes were like addictive pills,
Sharing silence overlooking the lake,
The whole time there was nothing fake,
Your sense of direction was impeccable,
sipping a cappucino never looked so unforgettable,
gazing at me unoticed as I think to myself,
chocolates for both, our feelings expressed,
flowers at the end definitely felt right,
Neither of us wanted to say good night.

You're lucky man; whenever you feel down all you need is remember that day.
Great narrative, even better piece.
