Illusion

Illusion

A Poem by Twizzler

Its the pain inside that never leaves

Words that cut...all alone she grieves

She misses his face and all that they had...

An illusion that plagues as soft as is sad

A summer of brandy, cognac and tears

As the memories blur and fade from their good years

Time doesn't heal and some things never change

We still love thru the pain cuz feelings are strange

He told her she was just a leech and she made him miserable

It sank deep and became buried with the rest so life would be livable

She grew colder with the days and let the loneliness fall around her like a blanket

Finding comfort where she could while still holding on feeling anxious

The days were long though the nights were longer

How much BS before you start to feel stronger?

With every lie he told and secret he kept just sealed it further

If she ran far enough he could no longer hurt her.

One of the more impressive things I've ever read on this site. How did I not see this over all these years?

Usually people are good at coming up with valid ideas but not so much at putting them down on paper in an aesthetically pleasing and/or poetically organized way. You seem to be able to do both. Well done.

The ones that say time will heal all wounds, have not been cut so deep that the blood continues to run for so long that you can't even remember what it used to be like, or who you used to be. All you know is who you are now, and only time will tell of who you will become. But one thing is for sure... You will never be able to go back, as the events you been through and seen, have forever changed you...

The imagery from your words paint this scene completely. Breathing life into this for many readers to relate and see through your eyes. Very well done! Nicely Inked...

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. I appreciate your time and kind words.
Another good write . A bitter tale of love and loss.
Time heals all wounds, but the scars will last.. every now and then we will still feel the pain. Scars will remind us of our past. "The only constant thing in life is change" . So, things will change unless we try to resist it (and fail ).
"If she ran far enough he could no longer hurt her." - I wish that was true. But you can never really run away from yourself. The problem lies within us. We love some people too much.
Good job :)
