Snow White

Snow White

A Poem by ManasaC

Trudging along the path that saw travelers a few

I wandered around following a trail that I once dreamt

Deep in the woods, I found myself under the canopy of a Forgotten Tree

On the bed of the fallen leaves, there lay a Maiden encased in a casket of glass

Fairer than the snow, with hair of darkness, she lays still

A sleep like death

A heart of warmth lies dormant

Waiting to be woken up by her prince

For only true love’s kiss is her savior

An apple poisoned by the queen of death

Plunged her into a chasm of emptiness

Unknown to the fair maiden, the prince lies in a grave of his own

Murdered by the vile and vicious queen

Why would she do such a thing?

Oh! A beauty like the fair maiden could make anyone jealous

Death consumed her

For her love was murdered by fate

Thus ends the story of the dame Snow white

For in the eyes of this melancholic whisperer

Happily ever after is just an eluding mystery.

I love this story which is contrary to the real Snow white one..it aptly fits to today's world...it is not always an happy ending to love stories..
The tone of this write is serious which strikes the chord with this poem.
loved the flow....

What a jealous b***h! Beauty attracts future best friends and envious haters alike. I like how Snow White did not have a Disney ending. Wonderful twist. Great write ManasaC! I enjoyed it.
