AM Hours

AM Hours

A Poem by Daniel Maguire
"

A poem about the solitude found in the wee early hours of the mornin

"
Am Hours

The traffic light it whistles
With it's serious yet subtle sound
The wheel stops and stiffens
As it grips onto the ground

The lights flicker and falter
As the current fades away
And the lamps are now not needed
To light the fading day

My Train of thought is like a wave
That does not break on shore
It is these AM hours
Which I truly do adore

Some moments you`ve captured into the words. Morn`s always been the greatest one to divine the shades of life; barren roads & it`s quiet interesting to get a chance to write such stuffs on "A.M" hours. Nice imagery!

I couldn't agree with you more, Daniel. It is in the wee, early hours of the morning that my muse is most active. The quiet stillness, the serenity afforded at those times while everyone else is sleeping is very refreshing.

An excellent verse, with some great examples of alliteration. Nice flow, rhyming and tempo when read aloud, as I do with all poetry I review to get the artists full effect.

Nicely done.

The pleasure was all mine, Daniel. Well done.
I like this, I've always preferred the morning before sunrise, they are by far the nicest (though loneliest) hours of the day.

Thanks I'm glad you could relate to it
Parts of this echo the way Dickinson writes, but I like it.
