The Things I'll Never Say

The Things I'll Never Say

A Poem by Amanda Naomi
"

lets just say, he lasted far longer than he should have!

"

I want someone who can brag about their family,

     Not complain.

I want someone that isn't afraid to say whay he feels until it's too late

I want somone who will grab my hand and not ask shyly to hold it

I want someone to sweep me into his arms and kiss me,

Without giving me the chance to timidly say no.

I want someone whose love and passion for God is as great as my own

I want someone who will challenge me to be a better person,

Not sit back when I fall short.

I want someone who loves to learn as much as I

Who loves the arts

Who will buy me ancient books of poetry from a half priced book store

And will recite them to me later

I want someone who surprises me

And makes me laugh at the stupidest jokes

I want someone who is as active as me

But still has time to watch the stars at night

I want a simple card that makes me laugh,

And a nice box of Christmas chocolates for my summertime birthday

I want someone who can hold me when I'm still

But lets me run when I am not

Someone who like to watch worn out movies because they are still good

Someone who's not afraid to be himself

Someone who doesn't need me all the time

Someone who isn't influenced by what other people think

I want someone who has his own ideas of what a relationship should be

Not the one that's shown in the movies

I want someone who will lead the way, and not ask me what to do

I want someone to make the big desicions,

Because he knows it what he's supposed to do.

I'm sorry, but I want someone that isn't you...

This was one of the hardest poems for me to write, simply because i was ashamed of how i felt, but it was also the most rewarding and freeing experience

thats so very well said dear ,you are talking about a man with no flaw at all,but so many others will say ,and i am one of them ,i like a weaklings ,a man who is tired of life ,who will think twice before making a decision who ask you a lot what do you think ,of this or that ,who will hesitate before taking a move ,i want a man with all the weaknesses life has put in him ,so vulnerable so alive ,a real human ,a poet

Dont feel ashamed of the way you felt, because I feel like this. I know these types of relationships exist because I know people who are in them! And I am so happy they have love like this, but i just wish i could too! Thanks for suggesting I read this poem, it has made me feel better about my emotional rant. Great poem and very well written
