Can this world be free?

Can this world be free?

A Poem by Maria Retz
"

A very short poem, very quickly written, about my feelings here and now about all the darkness going on in this world. No matter how dark it becomes, light will always be stronger, though :)

"

My tears are grey…

polluted by hate,

all the malice,

all the torture,

all the wars,

all the terror,

all the fear…

can’t this world be free?

I try to breathe…

but I choke on frustrations,

choke on hope,

choke on illusions,

choke on promises,

choke on dreams,

choke on hope again…

could this world be free?

This world is but a blip in time and space. Our lives are over in a blink of an eye. Collectively we could change this damaged world. But human nature is the hardest obstacle to overcome ... We can change ourselves and help others. It might not seem as epic as saving the world, but it's a step in the right direction. At least there's a chance to set yourself free :)
