Finding True Love

Finding True Love

A Poem by Maria Retz

I searched for love all my life
In every possible way to search.
I tried with kindness and with strife
I even put my faith in church

I looked in every corner of Earth
In every white cloud at the sky
I searched with anger and with mirth
But nothing I found in my hardest try.

I then began to give it up
To live my life with grief and pain
I cried my sorrow as a pup
And hurt others to clear my brain

I found the right way soon again
And lived with kindness my last time
I found a mate and did attain
Love that almost felt like a crime

But on my life’s very last day
I understood it was not pure
For true love is not in that way
It is inside you and finding it is the only cure

this was very interesting. I thought, only falling into love is wonderful, not seeking, your ending is poignant...I also like AB AB scheme. Great writing!! five stars.
