Spectacle of a Broken Heart

Spectacle of a Broken Heart

A Poem by Marilyn My Bitterness

Were you expecting a spectacle extraordinaire?
A show to wow and fill all the seats with no room to spare?
Well here it is, I hope you are well prepared.
Because I'm about to turn it all out, this is swear.

I'm the epitome of narcissism, a lust prima vera.
With a personality as dry and choking as the sahara.
I spit pernicious venom far and shockingly straight
Right into your mockery of all that I hate.

Watch the fireworks bleed into the midnight sky.
Each one, can't you see, just kills me inside
Explodes my capillaries and leaves me to bleed
Right down your corrupt, caliginous cheek.

I'm tainted, and broken, yet beautiful you said
Or is that just another lie you tell all instead?
The wings of this angel have been battered to nil
Now I am stuck on this earth of which i've had my fill.

So thank you for your attendance to the miraculous show.
Take Everything you are, you can pack them and go.
The prodigious display is over, I am done speaking my part.
I don't care what you have to say, YOU broke my heart.
