Children/Butterflies

A Poem by Dave

Children/Butterflies

A child is like a butterfly in the wind.
Some can fly higher than others, but
each flies the best it can.

Why compare one against the other?
Each one is different, each one is special.
Each one is beautiful.

This is beautifully & simply stated. I love it when a poem has a straightforward message that needs no interpretation. This message is especially timely with the way factions are warring over our differences! *sheesh!* Nicely soothing & reassuring! Love butterflies, too! Fondly, Margie

totally true they each have their own special qualities which makes them more lovable. my child at 18 is the sweetest and most stubborn person i know and i can't stop calling her my baby because she will be forever my baby.

It's a lovely analogy, Dave...well set to poetry!

Very well expressed and absolutely true. Too many "compare one against the other", and it benefits no one.

Quite right too, said as a true and fair teacher! But you know what the Chaos theory says about butterflies? If a butterfly flaps its wings, there is a hurricane somewhere else!
